I grew up in NY with very frugal parents who cooked most of our meals at home. Going to Katz was a once in while treat. I could never finish a whole sandwich so sister and I would share. You can’t find meat as superior In quality as this in a regular supermarket or deli. Few establishments have lasted in NY since 1888. It’s definitely worth it.

Last time I went there, a few years back, I found out that I can have pastrami on a roll. That changed everything! ❤❤❤

People complaining of the cost . It’s an experience to try some fresh of the oven meat . And it’s really really good . Would definitely visit NYC just to eat at Katz and then Russ & daughters

Complaining of the cost yet compelled to give them a 10 dollar tip for a 50 dollar meal. People are sick of tipping culture, stop doing it. The deli charges enough as it is and they know it

Beef is expensive at $5/ lb, curing spices, $1/lb. 5 lb brisket
$30. Bread, $6, $36 makes 10 1/2 lb sandwiches, they charge
$400. Ripped off. 40 US X 1.7=$68 Cdn.

No, it’s not if you really nice they’ll give you cuts to try. It’s if you just take them a couple bucks at the line they’ll give you cuts to try.
