Nobody told that boy that the goal is to lift that weight. Show him some mercy

As a former cross country runner, yes this has me laughing at the start. Still laughing for how true this is.

The most horrible thing in the vid was how pathetic the spotters were! The two of them were struggling mightily just to haul that 95lbs off the poor kid!

Poor kid looks like he has never tried benching before.

First rule when lifting weights at all is put your ego away. You know what’s too heavy for you and you can get seriously hurt. Now tell us about proper form and the rest.

I had to start with the bar in high school, so I've been there, lol. Just keep at it, and you'll be way better than when you started!

It is true tho that benchpress works om the entire body. I could really feel all my muscles working. Sometimes I see someone elevating their heels and here is my advice for you guys

If you are targeting for hypertrophy, you should not elevating your heels, just stay on the ground and squeeze your glutes, you feel like you push your legs

The wrist cue is huge. Been lifting for almost 10 years. All my favorite bodybuilders would do the palms up thing so it never occurred to me to keep the wrists straight. Game changer

Very hard to hold that wrist position during heavy lift

The nice part about being weak is that I can still make breathing and bracing mistakes, like lift without holding the breath and bracing fully tight or let the bracing go as stepping away from the squat rack or letting the breath go when reracking.

Telling people to hold their breath for a whole rep is a surefire way to have folks passing out, I advise taking a breath in as you drop the weight and exhale hard as you push it back up

I was cross country in HS 😅. But also wresstled and lifted weights. Probably did everything wrong since all my lifting information came with the exercises that came with the rubber coated 110lb weight set 😅

The one thing I always wanted when I was growing up was someone with experience to help me with weight training. I hurt myself too many times doing crap like this.

Love all these tips like "keep neutral grip". The whole problem is that sometimes it's literally impossible, how am I supposed to do that? I've got weak ass little girly-like wrists, and it's not something that you can make bigger via bodybuilding exercises so what do I do? Lifting 50 kg all my life?

Never heard of holding your breath during reps. Going to have to try this till failure!

I love bench press but currently sidelined with a shoulder tear. Ouch but I'll be alright 😅😅😅

No kidding, I did cross country my 9th and 10th grade. I couldn’t even bench the bar my freshman year.
