Caregiver stress is the all too common outcome of caring for a person with dementia. The challenges of caring for someone else on top of other responsibilities can feel overwhelming. In the long run, allowing caregiver stress to build up will hurt you physically and emotionally. Dr. Oakes will provide guidance for caregivers in dealing with stress.

Presenter: S. Liliana Oakes, M.D., CMD Associate Professor, Associate Geriatric Fellowship Director ACE unit co-Medical Director, Family and Community Medicine and Internal Medicine, Geriatrics Division

Ask the Geriatrician was developed to address the shortage of geriatricians available to meet with older adults and their caregivers in the United States. Geriatricians specialize in preventing and treating health issues in adults ages 65 , yet many people never have the opportunity to speak with one. This webcast provides the means to submit your questions to the presenter during the live and on demand presentations.

This program is included in our Ask The Geriatrician Series.
