You do not have to limit vegetables if you are on the keto diet or are considering it. Plenty of low-carb vegetable options include arugula, asparagus, bell peppers, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, kale, mushrooms, spinach, and tomatoes.

The only reason for exhaustion in the beginning is when you are switching from a primarily glucose based energy to ketones… because your body has to transition from being addicted to sugar. 🙄

Of course the ketogenic diet is safe!?! It’s around and used medically with over 100 years! There should only be ketogenic diet on a cycle of 5:2 day a week. It’s so easy, I use it and I have my four children and husband on it, it’s way easier that he standard diet. We do eat grains and fruits on our off days but if I had cancer I would not eat non-cruciferous carbohydrates!!

I tried all diets only the Keto diet works for me and trims a lot of weight off. I got full of energy sleep was great. Tumor can't use Ketones for fuel. Glucose is the primary fuel for Cancer cells.

Last several years I was in nearly keto diet and intermitant fasting. I'm 53 years old now, in a year I have been diagnosed 3 different cancers; thyroid, endometrium and colon cancer. I think the mediterranean diet is the most suitable diet.

This doctor has completely misrepresented keto for cancer.

Her presumption is that keto can only be done with high glutamine, ie, with fatty meats and dairy.

A plant based ketogenic diet cuts back on carbohydrates, eliminates sugar and prevents fueling cancer by keeping glucose at bay. Cutting out animal products reduces its secondary source of energy, glutamine.

You cut out glucose and cut back on glutamine and the data is conclusive - better outcomes especially during or after cancer.

Combine these dietary strategys with fasting, specifically autophagy inducing fasting and your body can heal.

You can add in sauna time or hyperbaric chamber time to even further increase the effectiveness in combination with the fasting and diet for better results.

youre misrepresenting the keto diet through the statement "that you'll eat hardly any high carb food, ( like grains vegetables and fruits)"

Yes you are correct that you reduce carbs heavily however you do not reduce vegetables,

On Keto people increase low carb vegetables (and in fact in contrast to many vegetarian diets which are heavily grain and legume based) you increase low carb high fibre vegetables significantly (as you are replacing the grains with veges and meats.) and you can still include low carb fruits, berries, figs etc.

The claims you make about how keto increases symptoms with traditional treatments (chemo and radio etc) are some big claims can you quote the study?

To challenge that also, - The "exhaustion" piece can be explained through the switching effects during the crossover period between diets. which means there wasnt enough time allocated within the study allowing the participants to adapt to the new diet before they took all the scores. The "exhaustion is in fact improved when you have become fat adapted because ketones are a more effeicnt feul for the brain to run off o(again once the brain is being run on ketones) Basically it burns cleaner feul. This claim is easy to validate also if you need to.

Confounding variable - Particularly the switching cost (from glucose to ketones) can be heavy for some people IF they have been coming from an unhealthy diet like the SAD diet, as they will need time to adjust. Therefore the studies that claim exhaustion weren't taking that measurement after the 6 week adaptation period and are therefore misleading (this is called the diet order effect and "crossover period" which needs to be accounted for int he trial designs in order to not misrepresent the data.

It’s a dilemma I was plant based for 8 years and still developed prostate cancer so I switched to Mediterranean diet and included fish, eggs and chicken and felt really good and reversed fatty liver. My oncologist is insisting that I follow a plant based diet for the best outcome
