Instead of teaching your viewers about how to apply PEMDAS, it would be better to understand that PEMDAS is so widely misunderstood that the burden should instead be on writing expressions that are clear. How many people would get it wrong if it was written as (6÷2)*3?

Suppose you really care if your expression is understood. Would you write 6÷2*3 and just hope for the best, or would you write (6÷2)*3? Isn't the two extra symbols a small price to pay for being understood?

As to why M an D have same priority, it's because it is actually the same operator in both cases.
Dividing by x is by definition Multiplying by "1/x"

Same that Substracting by x is by definition the same as Adding "-x"

Pemdas is worthless unless the explanation about the order of multiplication and division is always explained. Meaning, it's really worthless. We never used it in school, and I had no problem solving this.
