I show how to fix a GE washer that is shaking and banging around while spinning. The video shows step by step instructions on how to replace the suspension rods on any newer style GE washer the model in the video is GTW460ASJ5WW. The video is part of my series "Free on Facebook" in which I repair, repurpose, and recycle things that would otherwise be destined for the landfill.

Really appreciate you putting these videos out. With as expensive as appliances are, seemingly worsening quality, and repair man so expensive, I find myself needing to fix more and more things on my own.... But couldn't do it without people like you sharing videos like this. Thanks!

We have an Amana washing machine. But found the parts we needed on Amazon and followed this video. We were the lucky ones that had to take the rods out from the bottoms so definitely not a one man job on our machine but saved us lots of $$$! Fixed the issue for less than $30! Thanks so much!

I have repaired a lot of my appliances over the years. My washer was banging like crazy. I ordered the new suspension rods and now the washer is running like new. Thanks for the video.

I have this same washer and it's been slowly getting worse and worse about going out of balance and it's about 7 years old. I ordered a new one yesterday and stumbled upon your video. Needless to say I canceled my order for a new washer and bought new rods for $75 delivered. Thanks!

Today there is more engineering used on just getting the product past the warranty date!!! Thanks for the video, I was just about to throw mine out! Also have a solenoid that's leaking.

I was having same issue on a 5 month old ge washer. Tech thought it was the rods. Problem not fixed. He brought me a new washer and he was going to take the original back to his store to check it out. When we unloaded the new one I checked the tub on the new one versus the older one. Turns out that the tub bolt or nut came loose. The tub would partially lift away from the agitator. Anyway I got to keep the new machine. Apparently the tub bolt or nut was not torqued properly at factory. Just a lucky find. Hope this helps someone.

My sister just bought an identical looking washer this month, and it's doing the same thing, and the tub is sitting off center. This should be a warranty issue. She's single, and I gotta do the big brother stuff. Thanks for the info.👍
