If you upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 10 or updated Windows 10 to a newer version, then you have a Windows.old folder located on the C drive. For the new Windows to work, this folder is not needed, it takes up a lot of space, and today I will show you how to properly delete the Windows.old folder.

Sorry, this method does not work, already tried it multiple times as well as several other methods that others have suggested. I have even tried changing permissions under the security tab in properties, tried third party software programs etc...

I am currently stuck with the Windows.old folder, albeit it is empty and technically not taking up space, it is just sitting there as clutter now and being a tech myself, it just simply bugs the crap out of me.
