Thanks!!! All those messages not really deleted, are taking space in your cloud? Should I do the same on my Mac and IPad (they are all synced) or once you do it in one, it will be deleted from all?

Thank you. I understand this. But, I keep getting old text messages, from 2019 - current, suddenly appear back in my messages on my i-phone. I figured let me Permanently delete messages. I went to Filters, then at the bottom it says Delete All. When I did this, It then came up that there were 22, 000 messages to delete. Whoa! Per I-phone, old deleted messages only should be saved for 30 days. Can you help?! iPhone13. thank you.

There is no "recently deleted messages" choice. I have an iPhone 7.
