A classic card for sure, the first PC I built had a GTX 1070 and they are pretty decent budget cards for the right price

i run an amd 3.8 ghz 8 core with a ROG strix 8450-f gaming mainboard and 32 gigs of ddr4 and a geforce GTX 1070 SC, and i can play any game i have thrown at it with no visual issues.... rdr2 plays smooth along with cyber punk, FARCRY 6, the quarry, and atomic heart, and deathly stillness, and dying light2... i dont feel i will need to upgrade for a few yet...

This 1070 may be a broken card. cuz my previous gtx 980 was able to give 30 fps avg with the mixed of high and untra settings whereas this gtx 1070 was giving poor performance on high in RDR2. So something is really fishy here. Condisider monitoring gpu and power usage on your next bencmark. There is no way that i9 12900k was bottlenecking gtx 1070 if there is low gpu or power usage then consider this card as a faulty gpu.

50 Shades of Beige : in real world scenarios the GTX 1080 that had the GDDR5X is way faster i n modern games due to it going up to 12000 MHz (instead of GDDR5-s max 9000 MHz, and this example of 8000 MHz) and having 56 GB/s memory bandwidth (instead of this that has max 28 GB/s @ 9000 MHz).
