4 Ways To Play As A Professional Musician | The Sims 4 Guide

The first way is base game friendly, and it's to train up various instrument skills before licensing songs and playing in public for tips. The second way is to join the entertainer career and then go into the Musician branch. The third way [Requiring City Living] is by using the singing skill to write and publish lyrics, as well as perform in public, and the fourth and final way [Requiring Get Famous] is to use the Mix Master Music Station to producing tracks before releasing them to Simlify, while also looking to get signed to a music label.

Dear EA, we fans need a MUSIC expansion pack - a fully fleshed-out singer career, because we want to create our own music idols! Big stages, musical performances, bands, new instruments like cello, harp, drums! On top of that - Cars! If you also want these things, let's let EA know about it.

I'd like a pop star expansion with more instruments and pop career.

In Sims 3 you could have 4 people living in a small apartment and doing gigs as a band. You also had both regular and electric guitars if memory serves me right. It's beyond me why they couldn't have done the same thing in Sims 4.

There's also karaoke nights within the karaoke lots with City Living! They're on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and if you win, you'll get a confident moodlet and a bit of fame! But careful if you got lots of other Sims that leveled singing because the competition will be fierce. Might go to Planet Honey Pop rather than Waterside Warble, to keep the competition down.

Also, if you sign up for a recording deal at a label, then if you play rotationally like myself, you'll find that more often than not, the Sims will be unsigned from their deals by the time you get back to that household. Alas!

I think the singing skill coming with city living is often forgotten despite it being a pretty big selling point in my opinion. It adds a lot of reality and is a musical skill / ceative hobby that you can do anywhere with no equipment to build the skill or boost fun.

I love your K-pop group. They're adorable, I love it when they come up in your videos.

As a long time player these videos are so great for inspiration for new ways to play, and I even learn some stuff I didn't already know. Super appreciate <3

Only just discovered this channel a few days ago, but it has quickly become my favorite for Sims 4 tips. 😎👍🏻

Nice addition at the end. A siren singer would be a cool play style

I really value your videos. I seems every time I want to try a new way to play, you've been there, done that, and taken notes to share! Thanks for all of your hard work!

There's also the Pipe Organ skill from Vampires which you can license songs for as well. I just did a playthrough with a vampire who used their skill in the pipe organ to bring in folks to see off of. It was kind of fun. And profitable because the royalties from the songs were pretty good.

Hi Petey! This is great timing as I have Father Winter in my household and he is a level 10 singer (yeah I was surprised too). I was wondering how to get him and another sim together as a singing duet, and you reminded me about making clubs. Thank you! Now these two can go and become famous and spend lots of time together without their spouses around. No drama of course! 😉

There are so many weird quirks with the idea of being a musician in the SIms 4:
-Why can you write 2-4 books in the time it takes to write a song?
-Why can't you release multiple songs/albums and have the royalties come in like books?
-Why isn't the music production label way of working available to singing/instruments?
-Why are you limited to one song per instrument being licenced at a time?
-Can anyone listen to chart music and think that these people are level 8+ of their skill? So why can you write a book and publish it with no ability, but somehow not do the same with music? Have the sims team not heard of sites like Bandcamp?...

Overall, it just feels like they went out of their way to make the music stuff different to painting and writing, but never bothered to think about if it made sense or if it made for fun and rewarding gameplay

it's horrible when you're signed to a label throught the mixing station.... you literally have to release a new track every two days, it's annoying and frustrating 🥲 you can produce a few tracks at once and then release one every two days, but you definitely have to keep it in mind. you only get one warning before you get dropped

Now I want a renaissance musician sim who uses lots of these skills and routes

Actually when my sim practices music on a piano out in public I still earn money! So just a tip practicing does still get you paid
