Discovering Your Method - Teaching Methods (Part 1)

Показать описание
Your teaching method is the collection of techniques, procedures, and principles that guide you every day in your classroom. Your method is influenced by your view of languages and how they should be learned, and together these determine: what a typical lesson looks like in your class, the activities you do, the resources you use during those activities, your role as the teacher, your students' roles in their learning process, whether you correct your students' errors and how you go about doing that, and a whole host of other things.
In this lesson of our online TESOL course, we will begin building a historical and theoretical understanding of language teaching, by building on top of the ideas we covered in our lesson on Second Language Acquisition (SLA). We will determine our own personalized teaching methods to show us the path for moving forward. And in later lessons, we will start to unpack the practical details of how to turn these theoretical teaching methods into realities.
Citizens of Hope is a community of teachers bringing hope to the world through TESOL—which stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
