GREAT tips everyone! Keep them coming!
I'm going to test some of them out and possibly see if we can make another video!

My most important tip to everyone new to the game is to immediately buy a tent from the merchant in Tinkers camp so that if you ever encounter a material hammer(paper) you can always use it to change the tent's weight modifier. It makes such a night and day difference to your gameplay. It will multiply your carry weight so much that it just feels broken. With around 110 carry weight you can carry back the goddess statue (1, 200 kilos) back to your base which will instantly raise the wealth of your base which directly increases your monthly passive income (orens). That's just one of the many things you can do with paper tent. You can raid multiple nefies without going back, you can mine whole ruins in almost 1-2 trips for scraps.

fun fact: you can buy the tax chest and bring it home with 2 furniture tickets, so the next time you need to pay tax, no need to go to mycelia just pay it from home

My most important Tips:
Visit the Guilds and do their quests to join them. Each one pays you a dividend each month depending on your rank with them, and have skills locked behind membership that can help. Especially the Thieves and Merchant Guilds, as Merchant Guild has the Travel Skill, and the Thieves guild has Greater Evasion. Likewise the town's both of these two guilds are tied to have a 'town' trainer as well nearby (Literally above the thieves guild a floor, or the city 2 tiles north of the merchant guild) who offer good skills to learn.

Collect ANY mining bolstering gear you find, and don't sell it. This becomes important later on if you're getting into crafting to improve your base/gear, as for rocks, Basalt is the best rock you can get pre-Obsidian gem/Steel, and can be found more commonly in the brown mountain tiles. Granite meanwhile is the heaviest of the rocks, and a pain to move. Mining level is based on pickaxe Hardness + Mining Level + Any enchanted gear that bolsters Mining specificly. Blessing your Pickaxe by using blessed water (Water can be blessed at an altar, and 'Blend' can bless said water on any equipment) gives it a slight boost as well. Enchanted mining gear will save you hundreds of mining grinding blocks later on. Harder the material you mine, the more xp you get from it.

Dirt caves can net you gold bars when you mine their walls for some reason rarely.

Bonito Flakes are made by putting a fish into the Wood Saw building, giving you 5 seasoning bonito flakes, which can be used with Gourmet to season cookable foods. Any fish you don't want can be thrown into a brewery barrel and converted into wine a few days later, and then sold for massive profit.

Collect any 'bees' from slaying enemy bee units rarely, and make a beehive. A singular beehive can net a large amount of honey over time, and make 'sugar' wine, which also nets massive profits.

Putit eggs/Flesh are made of jelly and do not spoil. Perfect for rations.

Fertilizer made from the compost box processing decaying materials can be used on crops that are growing to 'increase the chance' that you get an upgraded seed from them when harvesting with a sickle for farming.

If the world becomes too difficult, or your next tax season is going to be a bit too high, selling fame at an informat can reduce what the world throws at you, and reduce your taxes... Albeit this comes at the cost of needing to do more quests/Nefia's to get your fame back up later.

Acquire a Tax chest for 3 Tickets at any town and bring it home. Never have to make a trip to pay taxes or shipping bills again.

The bank allows you to store your money and call upon it from any other major city. Some cities don't have bankers, like the farming village, but if you want to take advantage of this at your own base, consider hiring or recruiting a banker for your own city. Likewise, if you pick up a Furniture salesman from the slave market, you can shop from home. I've turned the starting meadow into a tourist and merchant's bazaar, and made the second location that Loytal throws you into investing in into a crop farm for great results.

The Casino has a number of important items for sale at the cost of gambling, and I do not feel bad for savescumming my way through gambling, when other people are using macros for the basketball minigame, or slowing down the frames per second for the slot machine. Blackjack (21) is also highly rigged as well against the players favor, which practically begs you to savescum your way through it. (Once had a card dealer do 10 'draw a 10/Jack/Queen/King with an Ace' Black Jack openning hand in a row. And my patience for their BS is now long gone.) A good luck stat will supposedly improve your black jack odds, but does nothing for the other casino minigames. The casino is also a great place to farm Musician skills, as the sheer number of people in the Snail Stage Room, and in the bar will net you tons of Orens rather quickly, and the music skill gets xp when you get Orens. The casino's walls are also made of several extremely hard and useful materials, and they have a number of highly valuable furniture to steal/dismantle as well for the enterprizing thief.

Beginner tip: there are three easy ways to get more storage.
1. Cobwebs harvest in Nefia, use spinning wheel to turn into thread, loom to make textile, make silk pouch 20 slot bag easy
2. Collect white garbage on home tile, drop on ground, break down with hammer, spin plastic into thread, loom into textile, make bag, 20 slots, and fire proof
3. Wait for a package box, or use a delivery chest to send yourself items back at home tile, 20 slot cardboard box for around 70 orens for postal bill

I didn't pay taxes for like 5 times in a row and had to hang out in Derphy for half of my play through lol.

Just keep your crafting stuff outside till you automate some of it.
The puppy does not have to survive if you talk to it and invite it, if it dies It will revive after some time.
There is a spell of inspect that works like the wands, which can be gotten from books.

Keep a beg of some sort on you make-shift or futon (later area than the video), due to you might have to sleep.
Keep the cooler on you if going out you never know how long a trip is going to be, unless you are living on rations. Mysilia & Derphy for example are both 2ish days out one way.

Roughly the same distance as Mysilia is a city to the north west (not on a road easy to miss if you stick to the road) called Derphy. Can pay your taxes there (which is odd thinking about it). It does not have guards, so never attack on sight. It has better merchants in general besides for furniture & food. It has one of the better trainers for lock pick. It has the thieves guild, which the guild quest are good to start early. You an pick up both pets/humanoids with Oren instead of gold bars, Mysilia has pets for Oren to be fair.
Mysilia is nice for the trainer of your main weapons but after I found Derphy I only ever went back to Mysilia to acquire some of the furniture or if passing by & wanted to take a look. Another of Mysilia's big draws is the possible queen bees & new/moving land, but both of those are more of mid to late game thing.

If you walled your self in a room with no pets/humanoids and no door, the pawns will somehow get in the room when you sleep. Was trying to do something like this due to crafting and them getting in the way. Really it as things I could not walk over when I originally tested, but then tested a workshop with no way in and the pawns still got in. I could understand if it was a magic caster with teleport, but it was a cook.

Later things that annoy me, but could have found them out early
The top and left of a wall have a tile you can not use so if your room is 20x20 (floor tiles) it is actually 19x19 (where stuff that is not floor can be placed). Also in saying this you can only ever place hanging things on the bottom or right of a wall.
Rotate only has two directions for most objects which means you can not have a bed face a TV for example. This is only an looks thing to be fair, due to this is not a big deal since it can be used from the 8 tiles around and the one it is on (if you can stand on that tile).

7:10 Tips:

- keep an eye out for the fireproof and acidproof traits on items. If you see stuff randomly disappear from your inventory it probably got exposed to fire or acid. The primary ingredient in a crafting recipe will determine the traits of the item you craft. Silver and steel are both fireproof and acidproof and are good mid range materials to aim towards when crafting with steel having significantly higher hardness

(There seems to be a possibility for items to break when exposed to cold effects too but there doesn't seem to a be a related trait to prevent it)

- material and category are completely different and you can end up with strange combinations of material and categories like raw food ingots or steel logs. Experiment with the hammer to get some strange combinations from breaking down certain items.

As an extra tip if you find your personal inventory to be limited, you can pick up the extra packages you randomly get and put them in the empty slots underneath your purse (to the right of your inventory and the left of your characters equipment slots). Each package weighs about .5 with nothing in it and can hold a decent amount. Obviously you should eventually replace them, and should absolutely keep most of your items in your base, but it can make dungeon dives less tedious.

1. Keep all good charisma stuff for recruiting purpose.
2. High charisma succubus can recruit almost anything in a day or two, blending bugs with food to lvl 8
3. Wraiths or executioners are almost immortal when they worship horome
4. Fishing is amazing for small medal, seasoning and money farming. Combined with gourmet 2 or 3 will boost stat gains big time.

This tripped me up. I couldn’t figure out how to build a tinker table as I couldn’t get a nail to build the chair, but you can build a mushroom chair on the carpenters table and that works for the tinker table.

For those of us who suffer to wait many days before to see their allies back from death or respawn, you guys can buy or recruit a character with healthcare/nurse as attribut or skills, that character will automatically resurrect all your dead allies waiting you in your home base.

3 of the first 7 tips were helpful. Truth is, I normally like jumping into a game blind. if I'm having issues I'll seek out info. So this helps. Thanks

Good video. This should be enough to get me started. I sort of figured out some stuff when first playing. I love this game so much already! The first hour of playtime I was getting a little overwhelmed but after pushing through it gets so good.

Keep in mind that depending what race/class you pick, early game your fists may be better then any weapons you can make. Go into your character menu and check out combat skills before you waste stam/time on making useless wooden weapons.

Get cooking and gourmand so you can see what stats food gives you. This is the only way to progress you character early on, great gear doesnt start appearing until LVL 15-20 onwards. This is double important because this is also how you will scale your followers, hired settlement workers, or pets. Keep the icebox on you at all times, never leave it at base . . . food is your most important resource next to orens and gear early game.
