Missing flash pin hack for Canon SL3, 2000D and 4000D cameras

Canon removed the central flash trigger pin on the SL3 (200d Mark II / 250d), 2000d and 4000d models. This is not good at all for us when we're working with bullet-time or photogrammetry rigs. Godox released recently a small/inexpensive module that hacks the other pins to send a signal to their hotshoe on the central pin, making it possible to use ANY kind of external flash! YAY!

If I may ask, why was the central flash trigger pin removed from these cameras in the first place? It is really a big problem. I have a canon eos 2000d and it doesn't have that central pin making all the external flashes that I have useless. So are there other cheaper options to make external flashes work on these cameras?

so if we attached external flash in the upper hotshoe of that trigger, we can use a universal external flash right (flash with only have 1 pin in the center) ?? i have a problem with that central pin too and i see that trigger have 5 pin so i think maybe we can use it to add a universal external flash again

I tried this device for my canon 2000D bullet time rig but I have an issue with the synchro between cameras. Cameras are not synchronised with the one that have the trigger.

I'm trying to wrap my head around this. I just bought two Neewer strobes, but the transmitter doesn't work because of the hotshoe on the 250D/SL3. I can just buy this and hook the Neewer transmitter to it directly and my flashes will go of when I take a photo on my camera? Or is there something I'm missing? Do I need to buy Godox transmitter and receiver? I just want to know step by step how I make my Neewer external flashes work with this. Please somebody help me.

Hi. I like your video. Thanks for this hack. I have Canon 250d. If I will buy this Godox X2T or X1T (there is only XT1 in my country) can I use my old, cheap, non-ttl flash on it? There is only simple 1 pin on my flash. You know these flashes. 7 dollars on Ebay :) But I love this flash. If you'll answer I'll be happy. Thanks.
