If you want feedback I prefer the digital visualization as it's easier to see and easier to follow what you explain, especially as the light is somewhat distracting and your hands sometimes block the view but it can also be beneficial for differential learning and therefore a maybe deeper understanding of the theory by understanding it from different visual perspectives

Anyway great video as always 🔥

Recently I used my defensive midfielder as a hybrid between a midfield player and a 5th defender, falling between the centerbacks, giving that 5-4-1 shape you showed. It was especially effective against those teams who like to overload your defense with a 4-2-4 shape or even further with full backs overlapping because it lets your own fullbacks act more proactively in fighting them since they are well covered by the center back on their side.

But we did not perform like this all the time. Instead, I used the opponents movement towards breaking our second line as a trigger to make the DM move that way. When the ball was still with their defenders or midfielders, she kept as the first midfielder on a traditional 4-3-3 formation.

It was quite effective but very mentally demanding for the player as she had to constantly monitor the opponents to understand the correct time to fall back. Moving too late meant not covering the center back, moving to early meant opening a huge gap between the two lines where their midfielders could easily enjoy

When the defending team drops from its 4-4-2 formation to its defensive 5-4-1, which one of the wide midfielders drops into the back five. Is one wide midfielder always designated to drop into the defensive line, or is the wide midfielder on whose side the ball is in, or is it even more fluid that that?

Do you think for counter attacking teams its best to use a two man rest offence to initiate third man movement from wingers to exploit the wide areas to get quick transitions to goal
