The four virtues are Courage, Discipline, Justice, and Wisdom. Just writing this down as a note to self here.

"I wish none of this had happened" --Frodo
"So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." --Gandalf

There, Gandalf just summarized Stoic philosophy.

Thats why I meditate. Alan Watts once said "Meditation gives one the ability to respond to situations instead of reacting" I took that advice to heart and i must say my quality of life has improved since then

I meditated before I went to bed. Actually fell asleep like this.

Great breakdown. Courage, Discipline, Justice and Wisdom; something we could all aspire to.

I think temperance is a way better word than discipline. It is not just about being stern, but also about being mellow.

He usually says temperance in the videos but I guess he said discipline because alot of people don't understand what temperance is (my past self aswell) I didn't understand what temperance meant but after looking it up on Google and looking for example sentences i understood that it.
Most people wouldn't bother looking up or trying to understand it, perhaps that's why he said discipline instead of temperance. People have asked me about temperance and they said they can't bother looking it up so I just say that it's similar to moderation

Justice is not defined universal. What is legal here may not be elsewhere and vice versa. Justice is a construct of civility. Justice also changes over time and is never constant. However, we should strive to avoid destroying each other

He definitely got it upside down. It’s very easy to see. All actions have a reaction. You only get back what you send out first. How you react to it doesn’t change it but creates a new version of the new action. So it goes in loops adding new details. That’s the trail of your actions.

I thinking there are more virtues for stoicism. With those 4 as the core we must also maintain temperance and humility.

Sounds easy but i find it rather hard to persue, it is no joke. Looking back i still see that many unimportant issue still bother me, even though i constantly remind myself that i should react to these situations in a different way so that i can deal with bigger problems later in life. It'll probably take some time.
