These principles guide government decision making and are important to know in order to understand the framework of the U.S. Constitution. The US is not a direct democracy, its a constitutional republic. Why do these people get this wrong?

Thank you ! We in the UK have no idea of the freedoms that we (should) enjoy as we have no proper written constitution. So we have lost the right to hold views that do not follow the official government line; And, of course, we cannot express those views. The mechanisms of the state, from police to public media (like the BBC) constrain citizens and support/enforce a Liberal stance. Democracy offers us the choice of 2 Parties, neither of which reflect the opinions of the people, just the views of elite politicians, who have NEVER had a real job. It's the death of a nation through the pretence of Democracy. The UK is a hollow shell of a country.

A Republic with a Democracy voting system. The Democracy voting system is wrong for the Republic. The Founding Fathers did not get to come up with the proper voting system for The Nationalist Constitutional Republic.
