The fact that Andy's actor (Adam Devine) left the show like 5 months after he and Haley finally started dating tells me the showrunners clearly had no idea what to do with Haley's character development at this point. From this season onward, something changed in the quality of Modern Family's writing. For Haley in particular, they had her jump between at least 3-4 different boyfriends. I genuinely believe Adam Devine's departure was single-handedly the worst decision for Haley's character development.

Wow, they really do have a lot of chemistry and mirror off of Phil and Claire. The writers couldn't have just left her to be independent and go with a solo storyline? The whole Dylan thing sets her back.

Dylan was basically Janice (Friends) of Modern Family. He was meant to be the on off funny character. Dont know how many people would have liked if Chandler ended up with Janice after breaking up with Monica

If they ever do a reboot/continuation of the show in the future then Haley and Andy better be together. Even if Adam Devine had to leave the show, having her get back together with Dylan was such a regression for her character. Like she was in high school again. She grew so much with Andy.

They should have been endgame! I stopped watching in Season 8 because I loved this relationship and the development of Haley's character with Andy. It was disappointing to see all of that wasted.

Beth breaking up with Andy a bunch of times and spurring him into visiting her to keep the relationship strong is so awful. Andy is terrified of flying and Beth likely know this, but doesn’t care.
