Even though Haley clashes with Alex a lot, Alex is also Haley's closest family member. They literally console each other. Love that for them. The one is being suffocated with attention and the other didn't almost have a taste of it.

I know that Claire loved all her kids but between her focusing more on Haley and Phil and Luke having such a bond, I kind of felt a bit bad for Alex.

Do I believe Andy was better for her than Dylan? Yes. But Haley and Dylan are still incredibly sweet together. Dylan was the underdog from Day 1, and the reason why both he and Andy have so much charm with Haley is because they parallel Phil and Claire.

The line that Claire has when she says that pregnancy really made Phil buckle down was entirely true with Dylan. Many of the reasons why we love Phil are the same reasons to love Dylan. The same goes for Claire with the "two fun parents" line. Haley did mature while trying to figure out how to be the best parent she can be, and she starts to get more organized and focused like Claire.

Phil and Claire weren't born a dynamic duo overnight; we saw them already in a pretty locked in relationship (16 years married in the pilot), and it only grew. Where the show ended, we see Dylan and Haley working to that point in their marriage, so it's like looking at Phil and Claire in Year 1 of marriage. I think that's beautiful.

tbh everyone acts like her life is over because went through with her pregnancy, stuff like that happens irl and she still has opportunity to further her career down the line. life is unexpected in that aspect and I think the writers were touching on that point.
