Tony great explanation thank you. One crucial detail I didn’t hear, this only works if you can generate X amount of dollars to even offset in the first place correct? Won’t the IRS be OK with only taking a loss the first year?

I think your mistaken about the California depreciation. California doesn't allow the accellarated depreciation like the IRS.
