gravel and stone here in NE Texas is pretty high now. As is everything Had a soft spot on my farm lane near where I put the first barn/shop. Been years ago but seems like I had 100 ton (yup) what we call 4-6" delivered and I spread it and walked it in with my D6-C. Got a road building video in my stream.

Congrats on 24K Tom, didn't see this video in my subs last night so I missed it.. Here today though! Question? If you go with an open frame over the planned cement area wouldn't it be wise to have a slight downgrade for the rain to drain off better? instead of a level area to where it may sit for awhile?

Why are you spending so much on rock? All you had to do was take tour blade and level a bad in the dirt? Or of you just wanted it to sit higher you build a pad with dirt not rock? When you see any building or home going up they pour concrete on dirt pads not concrete? Sure you can on rock but you are blowing money when not needed...

I would do a 3 ply post vs. 6x6. The pressure treating chemicals get into the wood deeper doing that vs. A 6x6.
