Just a little tip from someone who did this years ago, when the truck is dumping the rock, tell him to do it slowly while driving forward, this dumps the rock over your driveway so all you have to do is rake it into the edges..I did a 70 yard driveway in less than a day..

Man when I got gravel the truck driver was incredible. He basically spread my entire driveway except for some parts closer to the house and fence. Although it does matter on the landscape and if the truck has room to do so, but if they've got the room to spread the gravel it saves so much time!

1. I admire you for doing all that by hand. You definitely had some nice precise lines there, but yikes! Ha!! 2. Next time, have your gravel guy tailgate those loads! Save yourself some time/labor. If they won't tailgate it, find someone that will. That's a ton of shoveling and moving gravel that is completely necessary...unless you were looking for the work out. What an improvement though! Looks awesome!

I am top coating my driveway now with number 73 limestone. I will finish up my second tandem dump truck tomorrow and will need a third. I do have my 1979 Power King tractor with a loader to move the stone. I bought the tractor new but it still gets the job done. Thanks for the video.

wow, that is a lot of work. I have a gravel drive too, and it’s work to keep the grass and weeds out. Your trucker should have done 3 small dumps per load for you, that would have made life a bit easier. Excellent job, so clean and tidy looking, amazing what a difference it makes.👍🏻👍🏻

Just a quick note - that gravel is called "crusher run, " not "crush and run." It's the smallest bits left over from running big rocks through a crusher to get graded gravel sizes.

Man you're truck dude could have spread that out a little better than that. I've seen them do it perfectly, with you just having to come along and spread it out a little. This has been a great video I'm about to close on a lake house and need to know what to do to rehabilitate take the gravel driveway. How will your edges stay clean when the grass starts growing? I'm thinking of laying some concrete powder along the edges and then watering it in with the gravel to create a weed barrier.

I did the same thing when covid hit but it was smaller kinda therapy. I also put pavers in the beginning of the driveway looked pretty cool. Lot of work but you learn to pace yourself.
