They have made plastic version of these for kids for many years.Straw is built in on the side as a handle

That could work. If there was either a sprung valve inside the straw, that held the liquid back, until you suck hard enough to release it or a manually operated one, the Horizonti-glass could be a winner. It'd just need a lockable lid and some legs and you're sorted.
Deborah missed a golden opportunity there.

If the straw was at the bottom the drink would just pour out from there even if the straw was facing straight up, and if you change the shape of the glass so that it’s sideways and can be laid down it’ll ruin the consistency of the drink, cool idea but won’t work, just put your drink on the floor and get a really long straw
