Your body uses calories to build muscle, and more muscle means a higher base metabolic rate. That’s two sources of passive calorie burn you get out of building muscle. Using planking as the only means of burning fat would be stupid, but you’re getting more calorie burn benefit than just the four you burn during that minute.

But planks gives you a good form and activate all your muscles. Two minutes a set of 5 in a day is highly beneficial.

Your leaving out the fact that as you build more muscle you burn more calories every second from that point on and the calories burn by the metabolism speeding up for the next few hours and the healing over night. It's not that simple or I'd be a fatso cause I don't do much cardio and eat 5000 calories a day at 5 ft 6 in 185 lbs. Not 3 percent but definitely got an 8 pack and plenty of definition. Don't give bad info like that if you care about what your doing.

Intensity isnt a flat line. Intensity is a rising curve like exponentielly. You would probably already burn more kcal after 2min than 8, except your planks feel like exactly the same in the begining you started :)

Doing cardio won't do shit either. Bodyfat is basically a chemical process. Increase testosterone among other things will increase how much fat your body burns. Also keto or intermittent fasting.

Load of crap . I used to do cardio every day for over an hour . Didn't do much fr me . Apart from tone up my legs n make my heart healthier ofcourse . U need muscle stimulation n low carb diet . Most affective way . Plank stimulates quite a few muscles and is challenging . I would highly recommend.

😂 tread mill about 1 kilometer depends on speed almost burn 30 calories only the best is hard core which burn a week 🏋🚴💪
