Pokemon's Attention To Lore in FireRed LeafGreen

This is one of all my time favorite items in Pokemon, it means so much to me that is was included in FRLG before internet access was super widespread. Gives me same feelings as the Pokemon Adventures Manga, such a good time

I actually remember how some were actually pretty well hidden. Some of the book-related ones were only available in the post-game on specific magazine racks (most were in the Pokémon Centers), and Daisy required you to go back to the Water Labyrinth with the Togetic you got from the man who gave it to you. It's the small details.

i remember running around to every npc and reading all the books to complete the entries. bill's part stumped me until i realized that i had to talk to celio multiple times to get it.
my favorites was accidentally getting the last daisy entry because i had togepi in my party while talking to the guy in the water labyrinth and the confirmation that lance buys his capes in bulk from the celadon department store.

Fire Red was my 3rd Pokémon game and the first time through Kanto. It blew my mind to finally play THE ORIGINAL that I had only seen in the anime. Probably the most fun I ever had in the first playthrough of a game.

Firered and Leafgreen remains as one of the most underrated remakes ever. Such a good game.

One of my favorite little details in Fire Red/ Leaf Green is using the battle seeker and seeing all trainers sprites jumping in their own way.
One particular case being the old man trainer sprite will just raise his hand instead of jumping.

They did a similar thing with including a younger Archer as a character in the Yellow remakes, making it his first official canonical appearance in the games’ timeline (the only thing that would’ve topped it is including Ariana as well, since it’s implied she and Giovanni have a… special connection).

I like small things like the fame checker. It’s the same reason why I liked the trainer cards in sword and shield. I liked that you had a publicity shot for the common cards while the rare cards were more personal, even talking about their insecurities

Pokémon FireRed was my first Pokémon game, but also my first game every, so I cherish it very dearly. The fame checker was something I would look at from time to time, but it wasn't until years later that I was able to obtain some of the information locked behind the sevii islands because I didn't even know it existed until I started looking for secrets on the game online. Finding out Giovanni had a son was definitely something I was surprised to find out

I love the part where they refer to Koga's daughter as 'Charine' for some reason

Emerald and red fire were crazy cool, also i really loved how fluid the game was, it seemed to go fast on everything you do compared to all other gens games, like running felt nearly the same as going on by bike

Learned way after FR/LG that Silver was Giovanni's son. Wish this info was only in those games.

That's something that could have done really well with Paldea characters. There's lots of dialogues that connect characters and what they do. Not just gym leaders and such. But the faculty of the school as well as the researches of Area Zero.
