I Think Terapagos is another treasure among the 4 Treasures of Ruin, making it the fifth! And I think a lot more things! This video is ultimately a supremely deep dive into the design origins and lore of Terapagos, and all of its related relations across Paldea.

addendum on the el dorado mistranslation: it mostly came down to the incans not valuing gold the same way the spanish did. the spanish thought "no way they would let that much gold dust go to waste if they didnt have a MASSIVE amount of gold on hand! they must be hiding it, surely!" because they couldn't fathom the idea that people from a different continent might not have the same cultural understanding of and lust for a shiny rock.

Here's a small point that I don't know if it's obvious or if I'm just crazy.

Adding more fuel to the world turtle theory is that those who would come representing the elephants would clearly be the Donphan's paradox, but you'll ask me "but there are 2, not 4 like in the world turtle" exactly! because what other pokemon received both a paradox form from the future and the past? Volcarona! and what's it inspired by? in the Atlas moth... and who is Atlas? the god who carries the world on his back, so there you go

I had the theory that the ruination quartet were counters of the Alola guardians. There is some similarity between the two groups, countered types, signature group move both have the same effect, and I think the lore in the Alola guardians cut off human contact was due to the treasures of ruin.

The crazy gen 7 theory Lockstin made actually did make me think that we would get a big reboot. Even though it didn't happen, it is pretty insane just how much you can connect the dots and have it make sense.
