What are the Most Disturbing Pokédex Entries in Pokémon?

The Pokédex says a lot of stuff, some of it may not even be true, but if only a fraction of its tall tales do have a basis in fact it means the Pokémon world is a LOT scarier than we thought! And some of it comes from places you wouldn't always expect; basically it's not just the Ghost types you have to watch out for... (Although Greavard is a thing now, so definitely watch out for that!)

Gardevoir can apparently create black holes if it feels like its trainer is in danger. Don't bully Wally, his Gardevoir might just end the world.

One of the creepiest entries for me has to be Cacturne's:

"If a traveler is going through a desert in the thick of night, Cacturne will follow in a ragtag group. The Pokémon are biding their time, waiting for the traveler to tire and become incapable of moving. After spending thousands of years in harsh deserts, its blood transformed into the same substances as sand."

What about Lucario's ultra moon dex entry, where it states that, "Lucario reads its opponent's feelings with its aura waves. It finds out things it would rather not know, so it gets stressed out easily." I know that's not disturbing, more unfortunate, but that still quite bad.

Houndoom’s dex entry says “ if you were burned by the flames it shoots from its mouth, the pain will never go away!”

I found Snorlax’s Legends Arceus entry might be on here in that it used to starve entire villages in the past until it was most likely hunted until nigh extinction, except for the very few Munchlax that can be tempted out of their den by a honey tree in modern Sinnoh.

Cubone: "Which Dex entry do you find creepy?"

Me: "Yes."

I think the worst part about Yamask is when it evolves into Cofagrigus. It’s Sword entry says that upon evolution, it forgets that it ever was human at some point. That is very tragic if you ask me!

As a Yamask, it remembers its human life, so there’s a chance that if the Yamask was a good person, a “wild” one wouldn’t dream of harming you (leading to them being conflicted when the day they finally see another human being again, that person sends out their Pokémon at them).

But upon becoming Cofagrigus, it loses the last trace of humanity it had left, becoming nothing more than a monster that has been known to attack humans, and very well just repeat the whole process!

My personal scariest comes from putting together Mega Salamence's original SM entries: It bisects things while in flight and has a reputation of turning on its own Trainer, to the point it's known as the blood-soaked crescent.

In other words, it's known for brutally and messily bisecting its own best friend.

One Pokédex entry that creeps me out is Bewear’s, as it states something along the lines of “many people have left this world with their spines squashed by its hug”.

Mimikyu’s kinda creeps me out as well as apparently “a scholar who tried to look inside met his end”

Yeah, these two definitely creep me out the most 😨

These Pokedex entries gets even more creepy and disturbing once we cover the Pokémon with Mega Evolution because apparently, a lot of these forms either make the Pokémon unstable or cause intense physical damage like Mega Galie breaking its jaw (as you mentioned) or Mega Tyranitar’s back being forcibly ripped open. And these are meant to represent how much we bonded with our Pokémon? Rated E for everyone, am I right? Thanks for covering such topic in the morning, Emperor Cubone! Otherwise, some of us might not sleep tonight. XD

Some of the entries for Mega Evolutions are pretty disturbing. Garchomp’s says it is driven mad by the pain of its melted claws, and Scizor’s says that after a while, its body will start to melt from excess energy.

I think Mr. Mime‘s dex entry is kind of unsettling.
It says that it imitates certain objects to trick people. If the people believe the object is real, the object will come into existence.
Mr. Mime does this by changing the molecules in the air with the vibration of its fingers.
Basically a gaslight Pokémon.

Part of why ghost is my favorite type is because most of their entries are creepy or interesting.

Also thank you for not going over the same 10 pokedex entries as everyone else!

Alola's Pokedex entries: "Are you talking about me??"

I love Hatterene, and as someone who also hates loud noises, she is perfect for me haha. No wonder she was my first shiny!!

For me the creepies entries is Gothitelle
"Gothitelle unleashes psychic energy and shows opponents dreams of the universe’s end. These dreams are apparently ethereal and beautiful." - Scarlet
"It gazes at the stars to predict the future. It acts somewhat detached because it has seen the end of all existence." - Violet

But don't get me going with her Shield entries:
"A criminal who was shown his fate by a Gothitelle went missing that same day and was never seen again."

Which means Gothitelle actively preys on human and one of hostilest being in pokemon universe since pokemon only preys human if human actively harm pokemon (like in Veilstone Myths)

It's less scary to become a ghost pokemon and have a child use you in battle than it is to becoming a ghost pokemon and having a child store you in their PC box forever

Now that I think about it Tyrantrum and Meowstic could also be disturbing. Meowstic (specifically the female) can torment you with its psychic power if you don't give it what it wants. Tyrantrum can just casually crush cars with jaws

We'd be remiss to not mention the most recent reveal of the adorable Greavard, despite not knowing its actual dex entry its description of just casually absorbing someone's life force. It doesn't mean to do this but it just happens. Like it's such a good ghost boi deserving of Headpats and a good brushing. I'd die just wanting to love these Pokémon. A good way to go.

Could you imagine a survivor difficulty in a Pokemon game, where you have to eat Pokemon to stay alive, and if you're too far from a town and need to eat... Well let's just say there's more room in your party Pokemon now
