Isaiah | Chapter 7 : The Refusal Of Evil And Confirmed Signs

Показать описание
During the Syro-Ephraimitic war (734–732 BCE), Isaiah began to challenge the policies of King Ahaz of Judah. Syria and Israel had joined forces against Judah. God, through Isaiah, assures King Ahaz that the invasion will fail and urges him to trust in God rather than seek help from Assyria. To further confirm this promise, God gives the sign of Immanuel, a child who will be born and signify God's presence with God's people. The meaning of the child's name is "God with us." This child was born, solidifying God's symbol. So, let's remember God is our refuge and protection, strength, and our very present help in any trouble. God invited Ahaz for that sign and then confirmed it. Isaiah then prophesied more stating the child, will eat of only butter and honey refusing the evil and choosing the good. God states he will "hiss for the fly, and send for the bee."
