The WaveTrans is a new kind of Bicycle Transmission that uses a revolutionary logic/design.
You can change gears with a press of a button. It has six speeds.
It's controlled by a microprocessor and a PLC which makes gear shifting really smooth and easy.
The prototype presented here is a proof of concept.

This is truly an ingenious invention, that could change the way we achieve gear ratios on a bicycle! I love it. That's a very impressive design you've come up with!

I had this in my thoughts too. One chain ring does it all. Thanks for this video. Brilliant creation, much better than the shaft design.

I'm so happy to find this vid because I thought I was the only person who had this idea

The whole design is unbelievable. They have created something that is exciting and compelling.

I have invented the same thing! Great to see somebody else actually making it work :))

Which cyclist hasn't had this idea? But it takes engineering prowess to actually bring it to fruition. Hat off!

Continuous change of speed without lost transmission. Wow
You are a genius.

wow I had the vision while ago while climbing the hill. This is amazing and will solve the bad transition between small/big chain ring issue. Good luck and hope to see this in production soon.

I tried it few years back(not electric) and it turned out to be a vibrating machine rather than an innovative machine that could beat filthy gear shifters!
Not offending you! You are good to go as long it elimates vibration and give a smooth( our motive, i guess) ride.

Very cool concept. Patent pending is encouraging. Looking forward to production pieces and pricing. This type of drive would eliminate that damnable rear derailer.

I love this idea. I have a full suspension mb that I really like and have set up for my liking. This would be perfect because I can keep my mag wheels that I like. I need this!

The music is fitting for when I first saw a pure mechanical version of this in the mid 1980s.

It didn't sell well because it was prone to mechanical failures: too many small parts could not withstand the big forces on the gear blades.

I wonder how modern materials cope with these forces.

The BBC's Tomorrow's world featured this concept in the late 70's / early 80's it used Pistons mounted on springs. As load increased the springs compressed reducing the chain ring diameter, as torque reduced the springs pushed the Pistons out. It was a bit clunky though.

imagine what a belt drive system combined with this idea would look like.
