The fact that Thor "retired", lost a ton of muscle/weight and trained boxing for years, yet still comes back and is still arguably one of the Strongest men in the world is insane

Mitch deserved the win and Thor deserves credit because he broke records and won 5 events. Both awesome strongmen. What Mitchell Hooper has accomplished in strongman so quickly is unbelievable.

Thor didn't won because he shown up with an unprofessional tan. none the less, great event.

Actually Tom Platz just came out and said Thor is the winner and Mitchell has to give the trophy back

Mateusz Kielieskowski is perfect example of someone that wins a lot of events but has one event that keeps him from placing first. He so good but just his deadlift is 100lbs off where it needs to be.

It’s pretty obvious how Thor lost when you drop 9 points on a pressing medley and other events, it’s not really crazy to think Mitch deserved the points he got

Mitch literally came out of nowhere and taking over the sport not just with strength and genetics but with science i love it.

Anyone who doesn’t understand how Hopper could beat Thor doesn’t pay attention to strongman.
Hooper beat Thor at 3 competitions this year.

I think Thor said it best himself. There's no excuses. Everybody had the same opportunities and rules. He will just come back stronger and better next year. Simple as.

correcting the weights wasn't the most "fair" thing to do actually. It was what was best for the show. The most most fair thing would've been to just leave it and make everyone do the same thing.

Hooper is the most well-rounded strongman atm, while Thor stands out as the strongest in sheer power. Even Mitchell agrees that, in terms of raw strength, Thor would come out on top. Mitchell is no slouch when it comes to raw strength, don't get me wrong, but his true strength lies in his ability to master every detail of the sport, using every possible advantage and leaving no detail overlooked, just like we saw with the squat lift.
If Thor could regain his peak pressing strength, he would be just as well-rounded as Hooper, just a stronger.

Mitchell Hooper is not human. What he's done at his age and so quickly, is crazy. Oh, and lets not forget he weighs about 100-120 lbs less than all the top strongmen 🤷‍♂ That's wild.

I'm so happy you talk about strongman content Greg. You are literally the only YouTuber I follow with any regularity anymore because your videos are so entertaining and insightful, and strongman is the only sport I actually care about at the professional level.

Two of my favorite things combined into one 😊

What people don't understand. This is not lifestyle bodybuilding, where good form counts. This is professional lifting. They can and should do whatever they want, within the rules. And Hooper was within the rules. He used the tecniqze that produces the best results, within the rules. And that is just like in powerlifting a hybride between a squat and a goid morning.

The sadness when you realize we have to explain averages now a days…..

Brian, Loz, and Lucas said it best. This is strongman, not powerlifting. The goals is just to move the weight properly from point A to point B.

Knowing Brian, he'll take the feedback seriously and ensure 2025 SMOE is even better.

Mitchell Hooper did great as he always does and that's his greatest strength. His consistency. Strongman is point based in its competitions so the more you stick to the top positions of each event showing you're well rounded gets you the win. Hafthor's return and the incredible rate at which he got strong again is testament to why he's one of the greatest ever. With his pressing coming back and him only get stronger in everything else he's going to start giving Mitchell Hooper serious trouble holding onto that number one spot, hopefully pushing each other to be even greater than they already are.
