Maybe I don’t understand the culture, but I found this series very disturbing. Mental, emotional and physical abuse to a spouse…marital rape (because no means NO)…and then the writers have the nerve to have the female character forgive the husband just from an ‘I’m sorry’ and protecting her from one external attack that he didn’t cause? Scenarios like this perpetuates abuse and feed social acceptance that abuse should not only be tolerated, but easily forgiven and that the victim should not report the abuse to the authorities. If this series, though fictional, in any way reflects the Chinese culture, then I feel sorry for their female population. Shameful to propogate acceptance of beatings, rape, humiliation for any length of time and think that an ‘I’m sorry’ will change the true nature of an abuser.

The anguish I feel every time I watch this series. Words can not express the war that's raging in my head. It's too bad that we accept abuse to that extent, and a simple "sorry " is enough to erase all the atrocities done to this FL. Hospital and abuse is the order of the day!! Shame. Honestly, I want her to run away so bad 😭 its too much. His actions cannot be justified. I dont like the ending, my chest still hurt because I know he doesn't deserve her. I was hoping the writer could give her a better ending, like loving herself more or finding the right guy who will cherish her, and won't act impulsively and immature.

The story is quite difficult to stomach given the amount of abuses that is dished out. However, the issues are with the script writers. It is NOT the fault of the actors and actresses, I actually found the casts acted very well especially if you see the other part of this show. The casts did extremely well.

I watched a drama where he acted with this female lead without being in a toxic and abusive relationship and I really liked it. This version they give less role to the bad sister and show more love and care from the husband to the child. Less abuse then another version and her parents for her. Other version was more sad . These two leads are really comfortable with each other and great chemistry.
