As a young black girl, with short 4C hair, and lovely african features, hearing a critically acclaimed Nigerian actress and singer on her way to becoming an EGOT literally saying she's going to " stand up take my people with me" (me being her people) is amazing. I know this is for the movie but the song reaches different depths. She, literally being one of the few black woman I see who resemble my life and my features, saying she's paving the way for girls like me to follow along is honestly... transcendent.
