I am an avid #MentalHealthAwareness advocate and spoken word performer, and I love this so much. I travel the country trying to bring that awareness on stages, in classrooms, hospitals, and on my YouTube channel, so I get excited when I see other advocates. 💙❤

Your video on the impact of gratitude on mental health was a great reminder. Gratitude is a simple yet powerful practice. Thanks for sharing this positive message.

I’m noticing the lack of views on this episode. This comes from the medias constant focus on exploiting and causing conflict, societies judgment on other people rather than empathy. Mental illness is not common, response to trauma while being invalidated from the world is frequent and capitalized upon by those in positions of power.
We have not had a real leader in a very long time. This place need some guidance.

Mental health also depends on the people you speak with. It's important to choose the right type of friendship you want to have. Quality is better than quantity.

Mental illness is very treatable. My good buddy had bipolar disorder. The meds were stronger ...than her educated brain was. Memory problems, then. Heartbreaking story. I helped and ..we organized a team of friends. It got horrible. We volunteered together for several years. My son said he thought it was ..lovely. I hope so.

They should have said more than 50% of people IN THIS COUNTRY will be diagnosed with a mental illness in your lifetime. Some questions about your lifetime BESIDES HAVE YOU EVER BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A MENTAL ILLNESS are 1) Have you ever broken a lease or been evicted; ? 2) Did you ever shoplift?; 3) When did your lifestyle go before the poverty line?; 4) When did you start to feel overwhelmed?; 5) What made you decide to have children? Do you expect to have nieces and nephews?; 6) Do you have debt including student loans?; 7) What is your experience with drugs?; 8) What is your experience with eating disorders?; 9) Have you RECENTLY gained or lost five or more pounds?; 10) Do you know the different policies for obtaining your records?; 11) Has anyone ever used your privileges, including identify theft?
1) You know you could be a different person if it was a long time ago. It isn't recorded anywhere that I broke a lease, because the landlord said it happens "all the time" that roommates leave, and "You can use your security deposit for the last two months." Conveniently, the Jewish roommate knew when to leave, and I couldn't help him because THEY were aggrandizing the fact that he's Jewish. Now, he doesn't know how to handle this situation, and he fell back down, wasting more money! Since it does say electronically that I broke a lease, I wasn't able to rent for twenty-five years. And the police said I shouldn't live with my mother.
2) I don't know why I wasn't surprised when one of the best looking and well-off girls in the school came up to me and said, "Don't tell anyone but I've been shoplifting." First, for her to say this in the hallway means there was stress, and she is Jewish, and she saw me as a Caucasian counterpart whose father was a medical professor, and there was stress from the expectations. What expectations? There was a mysterious disease. They said I had scoliosis on x-ray and she had to wear a back brace. I always thought it was hurting the fabric of society that there is more respect for criminals. To me, certain businesses seem completely criminal. There might be a place for some of the things they do, but they focus on scamming. People say I can't handle the heat, so I took a little brazier out of the discount bin in front of the camera, and someone came up to me, and they held me until my father came. I said please don't call my father at work. My father acted like I physically attacked him, and later I found out he acts like a Conservator, so we couldn't go to the store for fun, and he told the Court he could determine, and he would have to pay all costs.
3) I didn't know about Social Security, and I felt guilty. I felt a little better that I felt guilty. My mother doesn't really use paper towels or Kleenex, so I had to be taught to use them. I became ill from living in poverty, and I've been in the face of everyone in my family who wanted to take my money ever since then. Of course, I didn't intend to live in an apartment and collect for this long, but you have to admit it neither makes sense to go to the hospital, which is incomparably expensive. I would try eliminating income tax and having a flat tax in exchange for people who use social services, and increase social services. It feels essential to have a library, which started with abbreviated hours during COVID. I found a book on everything from carpentry to plumbing. We have to give back to the Asians Countries for our goods, or they will cut us off, and it is better to have a dialog of what we really need. Special medical plastic and paper goods? One nurse said they were trying to get pictures of her using as much plastic as possible, which they would do in the case of one nurse. You'll see how much it affects your mental health not to have freedom. I might have started out comfortably above the people in my immediate family, but it became convenient for them to use me for things they might otherwise have to go through. They don't give me anything in return, except for you didn't do this right.
4) I think all of us should be working five hours times six days per week, and grandparents should have the children.
5) I've really not gotten a good answer, in my family, to why you wanted to have children. Everyone is excited about eugenic children, and the Republicans have some, but sure enough it presents a dilemma because they aren't creative (not that yours wouldn't be.)
6) The feeling of debt feels terrible. What if something else happens?
7) Most elicit substances effect the periphera as well as the CNS. The enteric nervous system includes the intestines and is three times the size of the CNS in humans. For the side effects of neuroleptic drugs to go away, they are captured by the nerves, and this leads to worse side effects. You notice the stomach on mental patients, because they have a detoxification problem. The number and type of bacteria changes. I didn't used to burp, but now I know there are five microbes associated with the cells in my stomach instead of just one, and it's a pathogenic type of microorganism. The potential that your brain has leads some people to overdose. As you know, your biorhythms are the same and you become addicted.
8) I have the worst eating disorder of anyone I know. I used to like dieting and now I feel like I'm going to die if I don't eat. That's because the number of microorganisms exceeds your cells and they secret hormones when they are hungry. Often people fake it out somehow. My body clamps down on wheat, and I was constipated and it never bothered me, until I tried gluten free, in which some of the fat and protein isn't absorbed, so the microbes are happy. But because of the neuroleptic medication, not all the receptors are available, except the glutamate receptors still are.
9) Yes, I did suddenly gain five pounds when I went to a doctor, and I think THEY increased the pressure.
10) It helped to have the psychiatrist ask for medical records, and she said she could do her own tests, and she said the CT scan wasn't normal. She must have already known something about my history as a baby, that I didn't remember, because she was assigned to other people with the same problem, but I don't know how they thought we had the time or money.
11) There is a story from the Holocaust everyone remembers about two sisters in different camps, and the working sister kept telling the other how bad it was, and finally she said to give her the ripped pair of shoes she was wearing, "And I never saw her again." I think I've heard of Laura Gottlieb, and the Jewish women are especially known to be good. I had a Russian-Jewish woman as a psychiatrist, and she didn't mind being affiliated with a Jewish man, but he said it was very competitive. If it gets to this point, I think it counts as jealousy. You might be able to tell someone if you are blamed for something someone else did. And they wonder why that one gets depressed. The only solution I can think of is eliminate the people below the bar, voluntarily. You'll remember that's what Hitler said he was going to do, but we could predict things wouldn't go well, and then he turned against the Jews. THEY still dream of a PERFECT VICTIM.

Can see from personal experience young people really developing problems from the constant fear campaign of the past few years, confusing and destructive messages to too-young students from activist teachers and school systems, and the total embrace and acceptance of crime and drug use all over the country. Is any of this really a surprise?? If you ever want to see how bad it really is, attend a local school board meeting or start paying attention to your local government.
