How to Make the Best Army as the Otomo - Total War: Shogun 2

Hey guys, so this is a continuation of my the "Best Army" series I recently started. If you think I am missing some units, or that the army could be better, leave a comment. Quite honestly though, I'm very confident those Portuguese Tercos can outshoot almost every unit in the game. Hey bud I was wondering if you could share a quick tip on how to properly use gun units. I'm having trouble using them to their full potential. I'm not sure if it's because I need to set them up on higher ground to shoot over my troops or if I should place them in front of my troops and have them flee back when the enemy gets too close. Appreciate the videos!

Something you neglect, (its a bit gamey)
You can have multiple nanban ports and quarters.

The trick is on legendary to lose bungo. Which you likely will as buzen is by far better than bungo.

Odds are Sagara will likely take it whole you conquer the north and guard buzen from ouchi.

Reconquer the south.

Now if you're snart you build nanban trade port in buzen (if you can afford it) before retaking bungo.

Odds are sagara adopts christianity due to your chapels and missionaries, and the shinazu likely accept namban trade too and get a nannan port.

So now there may be 3 namban ports on kyushu.

But wait there is more. Once you conquor kysushu, rush out all the farm uogrades. Get a big surplus of food to massively improve town growth for more income.

Then, when you have about 12k build nanban quarter at bungo.

Let it build. Get your tercos gifted by in game mission.

Then increase taxes.
Let Bungo go into rebellion and lose it (and satsuma if it has a nanban port too)

Now build a 2nd namban quarter at Buzen.
Also upgrade buzen to a castle if you have stone (best if choaskobe likes you as they trade it)

Rush out powder maker tech.

Let nanban quarter be built at buzen.
Retake bungo.

You now have 2 nanban quarters.
One (bungo) with naval upgrades (pirate lair)
One (Buzen) with max accuracy (land consolidation also lets you build master fletchers, and you build an encampment and hunting lodge at buzen, castle ahould aupport 4 buildings, stables, encampment, siege/powdermaker, and either original archery dojo or a sake den or market or chapel (flexibility here)

You can now produce 3 units per turn from buzen (castle) you can turtle out whichever clan is trying to invade.
You can build gold accuracy archers and gunners.

On top pf that, you can produce 2x namban "trade" (gun) ships as you have 2 nanban quarters.

Whilst navies are usually overpriced in shogun 2 and the ai gimps itself on legendary by buying boats that drain its economy when you smash its armies and take its settlements (a.i cheat gives 1, 200koku per turn per settlement + all other normal income attached the settlement would normally yield to the a.i.
Thats why 1 province clans can field a full stack of samurai.
Why 12 province clans can field HUGE doomstacks that end your campaign if you are too passive)

But namban gun ships have a strep upfront cost, but very respectable upkeep. Nanban gun ships beat almost anything, even in 5v 1's. You can use them to reliably prevent any sneaking landing parties on legendary. You can also dominate trade..

Only clan i would ever recommend a navy for, aside from using your navy with other clans (navy being single bow kobayas) to scout for enemy landing parties.

I wouldn't even use a real navy with Mori.

Only shimazu, going full trade and getting cannon bune can try to do a navy and hold some trade on legendary.
