A good trick to do and use all of the lemon is to instead of using the zest, cut the peels (after removing all the pith the best you can) into strips, and boil them in the sugar water until they become translucent. Remove the peels and let them dry after covering them in sugar. That way you have the lemon syrup for lemonade and the candied peels for a nice little treat

Recipe
5 lemons cut em up and get out all the juice

Into a saucepan, put 1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
A ‘touch’ of lemon zest (Nearly enough to cover the whole grater.)
Heat it until the sugar dissolves,
Once
It’s cold, out your sugar water and lemon juice into a pitcher, fill it with ice, and you’re set!
