I would want to mention paint too, it can have a huge effect on how your build turns out. It might seem a little intimidating concidering it opens up a countless amount of options but you don't need to go crazy with it. Building a wooden house? Brown paint will be wonderfull to make the colors more consistent if you are using different wood types. Working with stone? All bricks are beautiful in grey color! Want to make something in a specific color? You have that option and can use diiferent hues that are similiar to each other

I LOVE collecting and gathering paintings. yeah its a little unpracticle sometimes when underground because they clog up inventory but they are great!

Funnily enough, i used to make my houses out of slime blocks, honeycomb walls, glass walls for windows, and used 3 glass blocks on the outside walls for imitating windows, etc. Sometimes, i even used dynasty shingles and paint to make stylized roofs.
