Scripture Central is stuck in Central America. Many metal swords have been found in North America.

Yes but Nephi was a trained ore smith and it states in the BOM that he fashioned swords after the manner of Laban’s sword that they took with them on their travels. So soon we will find swords that are metal and similar to what Laban’s sword looked like of fine craftsmanship.

I know that most people feel comfortable with the Mesoamérica model but there are many real traditional swords found in North America. Made of metal (copper) and breastplates as well. No need for reinterpretation of what they meant as swords.

I am grateful for you mentioned "among many possibilities." It is interesting that Nephi gave a specific description of Laban'a sword, later making swords using Laban's sword as a pattern. It is possible that as the moment of the Nephi's people from the Land of Nephi, the materials necessary to make swords which Nephi precious had made were not as abundant.

What would the sword of Laban look like though?

Labans sword was most likely the sword that David had when he killed Goliath. The brass plates could also be the book of Joseph who was sold out to Egypt.
I like looking into this stuff with an open mind. God opens doors of understanding when we stay humble like a little child.
I love the Book of Mormon and all scriptures and most of all the spirit that we are blessed to have to help know the truth of all things.

I always thought of them as a scimitar.

BoM is weird version of a Religious-tinted work of Science Fiction/Fantasy

TBH. We are saying nothings been found about this kind of stuff, but I’ve gotta point out. There is pretty much nothing that has been found that dates to the time the Book of Mormon takes place. Everything we know about Native American history is conveniently taking place long before or long after the events of the Book of Mormon. So I mean. It hardly means anything that nothing has been found in these specific ways, because nothing from that time has been found in the broadest sense

I’m sorry, this is guess work not solid apologetics. This does not support the BoM.
