My neighbors are LDS and I love them, they are really great. One of them used to come over with freshly baked "friendship" bread and I was always grateful beyond words. One day she mentioned how they were "supposed" to do these types of acts but seemed secretive to elaborate more. So my brain interpreted that she was being kind to me because of her religion instead of because I thought she was my friend. She only tried to proselytize me twice. Let me tell you what happened to me when I converted to the Mormon church from a Protestant church in 1965. I was bombarded with anti-Mormon materials, and I became fascinated with all religions. In a lifetime of studying other religions and atheism I can tell you what happens if you follow the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is what the anti-church people are warning you about! They are saying that if you follow the church, you will not have as good as life as if you avoid it .
So here I am, many decades later. I have lived what the church teaches and I have seen a multitude of other people do the same thing. The ones who have done what the church urges us to do, have had the best life they could have had. Of course that doesn’t mean that there weren’t tragedies and trials. There always is. But the church teachings have always made the good times better and the bad times easier to heal. Anytime I have heard critics of the church complain about the church, It’s because someone in the church was not following the churches teaching correctly, or the person complaining was not following the churches teaching. Critics of the church frequently become atheist because no other religion passes the tests that they tried to put on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. What you should ask yourself is
