I've got two words for you my friend, Fan Shroud. An unshrouded fan swirls air more than drawing air thru the radiator. At least in my experience.

There needs to be two rubber gaskets on the cap for it to work in a closed system. The original caps without some type of overflow bottle only have a rubber gasket in the center of the cap on the valve with the spring. When they went to the closest him they added a gasket at the top of the cab or the fingers are for the radiator to seal that. That’s what helps create the vacuum to pull the cord back in

hes another cool tip, if you put water in your radiator, use distilled water as other waters have mineral deposits in them which cause rust and deterioration.

A shroud, proper rad cap will help. I used a round washer fluid jug in the Fargo.
Measure rad, i might have a shroud. Yours if you want it.
I should do a rad/shroud roundup, too many sheds and places to store them.

I'm positive you'll have seller's remorse later down the road parting with this one.. I can bet the other owners didn't want to let her go but she whipped them.. You gotta dig deep down in your pockets to find another looker like her.. Lol don't be the next one to let her whip you !!! A real good Engine and radiator douche out, add any fan shroud you'll be good to go 👍

I have never had a big block MOPAR overheat, even in the hottest traffic. When ever I have built a car I have always made sure I had a triple core rad, high flow water pump and 190 thermostat. If your running a heater core, if in doubt as to it's condition. REPLACE IT!

The shroudless from the factory 22" radiator in my 66 new yorker was barely enough for light cruising.. made even worse by trying to run 93 octane with 9.7:1 compression. Got a champion american eagle and it's much happier. What spark plugs do you run in your 440s?

The car does look pretty cool. Needs a good cooling system to go cruising though. Not like a drag car. Be safe and stay well.

Put a fan shroud on it, what temperature thermostat?

Hopefully you can figure out why it is overheating. The overflow is only a bandaid to keep some of the fluid when it overheats.

Get a new radiator, more tubes, bigger tank, big blocks need more coolant.
