Coding is definitely a hard skill but the difficulty here is such a variable that most people don't realize how easy it can get.
The most important question: What did you start with?
If you started with HTML (yes that's not programming language but we're talking coding so it's acceptable here) or Python you'll pretty much breeze through these languages and wonder why people even struggle to pick up coding in the first place. But if you'll bite too large chunk at once in the start picking up something as complex as C++ you ARE going to struggle A LOT since it's one of the hardest general-use programming languages to learn in general, especially for beginners with no prior coding background.

See, this panics me because I'm doing a course next month for full stack development and now I feel like I'm too dumb for it🙈 glad you're honest but I just don't think I'm cut out for it the more I see how hard it is.
I have 3 children and youngest being 8 months. I really want to better myself for them and I only have a year to complete it for a guaranteed job and have paid 1k for the course but I'm doubting myself massively now😥
