Write a Quadratic Function in Standard Form Given Its Graph
Показать описание
Write the standard form of the equation of a quadratic function given its graph. The standard form of a quadratic function is f(x)=a(x-h)^2+k with the vertex at (h, k). The given graph opens down so a must be negative. The coordinates of the vertex are found from the graph and substituted into the equation giving f(x)=a(x+2)^2+5. To find the leading coefficient, a, the coordinates of the point (0, 1) are used.
