As someone who can understand Urdu being spoken but not speak it myself, this is incredible.

I am a language coach, and an English/Arabic teacher. I am amazed at your motivation and consistency, and your system of learning languages is truly awesome! The system might work for almost everyone if they have enough motivation and desire to learn how to speak their target language. Also, it’s important to remember that it’s fine if your language level is not growing all the time. It grows only when you use the language, because your brain understands that this is important for you, and turns on its learning mechanisms. Without constant exposure and immersion it’s almost impossible to reach a conversational level in a language

This is the very first time I'm hearing about "Language Acquisition" but it makes so much sense. I never took English grammar seriously, but I think I've been fluent since the 6th grade despite not being brought up in an English speaking society, mainly due to watching cartoons and reading (course) books.

I want to do the same think you did for your mum. I’m in a similar position too. Estonian isn’t a common language. I hope to learn it with your method!!! Thanks for the inspiration!!!❤

I started learning urdu around a month ago. I learned about 100 basic commonly used urdu words. I listened to ur audio but I feel if I didn't learn those words I would be stranded just listening to the audio. So I recommend. Write down 5 commonly used words a day and after each word, write a sentence with that word. And then record yourself saying that. Slow. Fast. Even break up the words if yiu want. But record yourself doing that and listen to that while looking at your notes. Just 30 minutes a day. Idk about other ppl but it worked for me

Girl tell me why I feel your explanation just opened my eyes like I have literally watched so many videos and trying to learn little bits each day for a long time but your explanation was clear, quick, easy to follow and do and loved your vibe, candor and kindness. I hope you and your loved one are doing great right now and wishing you all the best 💞

You're so inspirational I'm glad I stumbled upon your video of surprising your mum! It's a dream for my 13 y.o self to be able to speak in korean, and from then until now all I know is to read and write korean but not speak since I don't know where to even start. I'll take your advices and will try to work on it actively. I want to make my 13 y.o self proud <3

Reading truly is one of the most challenging things, but I think you may have convinced me it’s what I need to get to the next level. Thanks for spelling out your process - I think it will really help me!

I loved this video 😍Also thank you sooo much for the Urdu audio files!! 💗💗I have been learning Urdu for about 4 years or so and one of the biggest obstacles I faced is that most of the learning materials I find in Urdu are always in the masculine gender and that's it. So I had to go the extra mile every time I learn a new grammar rule or anything to know how to use the feminine form. When I was still a beginner I would mostly use the masculine gender when I speak and get confused looks from Urdu speakers I practice with 🤣
Audio files ke liye bohot bohot shukriya 💖

Excellent video, Allahumma Barik. One of the best and most concise videos I've seen on (conversational) language learning, with actual practical steps and clear rationale behind each one.

The audio files were also really helpful, even though I don't intend to learn Urdu anytime soon, but was still good to see the kind of things you asked the voice artist to record.

One thing I want to request insha'Allah is that you also add the 80/20 document where you compiled the common words, phrases, grammar structures. I'd personally find that'd be helpful too.

And lastly, I appreciate that you edited that video really well, it was very engaging, especially considering you don't use any music in your videos, which is rare to see even from alot of Muslim content creators, so may Allah reward you for that.

I've been trying to learn Sinhala for years to speak with my wife's family. I know some, but it's not easy in our busy lives for her to find time to be speaking with me and teaching me when we need to communicate quickly in our daily lives. You've shown a wonderful path to conversational fluency here, and I'm going to embark upon it! Thank you!

Ahhh I love you!!! I’ve been wanting to finally delve into learning mandarin (I’m half Taiwanese but only speak English) for the longest time and I’ve tried in the past to watch other videos like this on the best to go about it but my ADHD ass can never make it through with getting bored and/or distracted 😵‍💫😔 BUT for some reason I really easily got through this video and actually feel like I took it all in and I now know how to go about learning the language 😭 I don’t know if it’s the way you speak or how you put this video all together or maybe it’s that you seem so nice and genuine and intelligent but you (I watched your other video of you surprising your mum) have been so helpful and really given the me motivation to finally sit down and make a start doing what I’ve been telling myself to do for YEARS. So THANK YOU, you’re amazing! 🥹🥰
