Even if russia takes bakhmut, bakhmut isn't there anymore, it has become verdun everything has gone completely into rubbles, they won't have a land to defend anymore, they are just trying to paint the map at this point rather than forcibly take some value out of ukraine.

Just out of curiosity has anyone been periodically checking the satellite images of Herlong Army Depot? Almost all of the artillery and half the armored vehicles that were stored there are suddenly gone. I can't imagine where it all went.

Ukraine has been supplied with winter uniforms equipment from multiple western countries, who have also pledged to supply them with more. Ukrainian morale also appears to be largely unaffected by the recent strikes against their energy infrastructure.
On the other hand, the Kremlin actually admitted that there were equipment shortages among the mobilized conscripts back in October. In addition, there have been increasing widespread reports of infighting, alcoholism, and soldiers refusing to fight amongst the Russian troops. And let’s be real, Russia’s logistical system is a mess, and it’s not getting any better.
So, while winter warfare isn’t a pleasant experience for either side, I’d say it’s pretty clear which side will weather it better than the other.
