This is such an unfair situation. This brother/ sister wasn’t prepared to care for their critically ill mother. They are scapegoats for professionals who failed to see the mother’s deteriorating condition and get her admitted to hospital. You can tell the mental status of these two family members. I pray the judge makes a judgment of mercy . This is so wrong on every aspect . To charge them with intentional murder is horrible

The older sister could have done her due diligence, and organized help and care for her Mom! She was letting her dad bully her, and her attitude and behavior on the witness stand was deplorable! Isn’t she complicit in this, knowing and allowing it to occur?! I say yes she is!

Seems a huge miscarriage of justice imo. The father clearly controlled the other family members and when his health failed, pressured these two adult children, who still lived at home (one assumes because of their own extra needs) to care for their mother, who needed very complex and comstant care anyone would struggle with. That was incredibky selfish and dangerous. When he died, clearly no safety net kicked in, no social services, nursing or assistance, and the sister who testified against them should have stepped up and at least reported concerns that they all needed support. Its tragic and horrendous, but these two non violent, non criminals, should not be incarcerated like this.

This sentence is appalling. They didn’t know how to do better in their circumstances. This is tragic & this judge is one dumb Cee Uou Next Tuesday for not seeing this.

I don’t this was an intentional murder. I’ve seen plenty of cases on 48 hours where the perpetrators shot someone in the head to intentionally kill them and only get 8 years! These 2 just didn’t know what to do except what they had seen their dad do and unfortunately that led to a death. But they shouldn’t get life if gang members are getting 10 years for a cold blooded murder

This is NOT right! Anyone with any form of education can look at these two, and can tell THEY need someone to take care of them! This makes me sick to my stomach at this injustice!

Wrong sentence. These two clearly have issues. I totally understand what condition the poor mother was found in. Where were the social workers? The other sibling? What happened to Medicaid?

My mother was very ill with diabetes, high blood pressure, chf, kidney dialysis and other issues, leg amputated. I lived in Michigan and she lived in Alabama with 9 other children around but i didnt feel that they were capable of caring for our mother, so i admitted her in a nursing home until her death. Im glad i did it because i could see my mother been treated like their mother. I feel sad for Karen and Michael, they weren't capable of caring for their mother. They were robbed of their life😢

One phone call, when their mother couldn’t get out of bed, and none of this would have happened .

I blame the state for not intervening more forcefully. It was obvious these two young adults were not mentally capable of caring for themselves, let alone their mother. This is beyond sad.

Lord forgive me but these two don’t appear to have it all together themselves. How can they take care of their mother. I don’t agree with this sentence. The sad part about it is they did t have one person not even their lawyers to stand up for them.

And the one person that would have visited them in prison is where? In the graveyard.... They should be so lucky to just get life without parole...murdering your own mother....sad sad sad ...
