What about linear expansion of the pistons, valves and other metal components of the engine? When its -25 outside, the stress is high on these frozen details, so they become fragile.

An engine running is a pure fire dragon blowing extreme flames that produces extreme heat, so you're basically heating up a cold metal with extremely hot temperature, which could cause a rupture, bent or deformation in the engine block or the components of the engine itself, pure fisics; unless is made of a strong material that resists extreme heat changes, so being smart is to warm up your engine, NO matter how new is your car. Is not a matter of the right amount of fuel being injected, is just a matter of fisics. And besides that older engines runs on thicker oil, so it will not be a bad idea to allow the old and tired oil pump to be able to get the entire engine lubricated before you take off; a few minutes wait won't kill you. I still warm up all my vehicles, no matter how old, I have a 2007, 2016 and a 2021...ALL warm up to temperature BEFORE driving away.
I am not mechanic, but it's only my humble opinion, nothing less, but I strongly think you're very wrong in this one.

The fog. You can clear the windshield like that, ... But in Ogden Utah when it's negative 13 degrees. You get in the car you ain't going to be able to see. You need hot hot hot air blowing on them windows in the defrost needs to be rocking on the rear window. You get clean the ice off like that pretty quick but you can't see when its -13 degrees outside. I'm talking - 13

You need to warm up the fluids in the car. Or you take a big chance of blown seals and hoses.. Aleast in MN or Cold States. These Cars just don't like the cold. There Mechanical with moving parts. The transmission don't shift smoothly when cold either. Tank heater to help to keep the engine block warm too...Hey Calvin, What a kingdom you build. Hats off to you! ! 👍

Warm up for 30/60 seconds is enough to warm up the oil focus on the word(OIL)🔩⚙️to make metals hit smoothly

All within the understanding of how gas, oil, electrical and mechanical systems all function within an engine and what may or may not happen if you warm up or don't warm up the engine, you'd be hard pressed to say that you are "destroying" your engine if you don't follow a particular method or have a particular understanding. The fact is, whether you like it or not, you're destroying it from the first time you turn your key. With that said, having ANY reasonable method of engine care whatsoever and applying it means you've thought about what's going on in your engine to some degree. This is SOOO much more important than not giving a shit about your engine at all, which is how countless car owners are. It's an appliance with a scary mystery under the hood.

For the most part, modern engines are designed incredibly well. Sure, many of them have way too many sensors that fail and ancillary parts that were designed by drunk children, but the basic engine with all its internals are usually very robust. Also, the metallurgy is amazingly good and unless there's a defective part installed at initial assembly or a major design flaw, the long block of your engine can usually handle quite a bit of half-assed to almost non-existent maintenance. Putting your feet in your engine's shoes means you care for it, and are likely to get a few hundred thousand miles at the very least if you remain aware and take care of problems when they arise. OR, you can be like my wife and get pissed if I even mention she should open the hood once and a while. Just sayin'!

Not so fast Calvin. You never touched on the sometimes immediate damage done to seals and drive train components of an automatic transmission when a car is driven not at operating temperature let lone freezing temperatures(can have some similar affects to manual trans but can be better managed/controlled by the drive). The pressures placed on an automatic transmission under these very conditions that you claim make it okay for the engine are devastating to an automatic transmission. Most all ECUs are not programmed to compensate transmission operation to prevent damage and you can self destruct your transmission prematurely but definitely decrease it's life and this is happening the very second you put that vehicle in any gear. And for those of you who are trying to get out of ice or snowed in parking in these below freezing conditions better make friends with a good transmission specialist immediately. These guys can look at your transmission components and tell you exactly what you did to destroy your transmission even if you took it out of your car and shipped it to hot region for diagnostics. But this is still good information that Calvin is sharing with us once again.
