This Might Be The Best Indie Game Of All Time

CrossCode! It might be my favorite indie game, and is even one of my favorite video games! If you like games like Chrono Trigger, Zelda Link to the Past, Or even more action heavy games like Hyperlight Drifter, you might really enjoy this game!

I can't SLEEP, I've been stuck playing this game until 2-3am! The music is great, and it somehow made grinding tolerable if not fun. It also references Gurren Lagann to a beautiful extent, so I'm willing to call it one of the greatest games of all time.

Found this game years ago and now that it's completed there is nothing else holding it back from being one of if not the best indie game i have ever played. Easily in the top 3 of my favorite games. Incredible hidden gem that deserves way more recognition.

Bqck in early 2021 I was super bored and spent weeks looking for a very particular type of game. Something with jrpg type level ups, stats, and skills, but on a real time combat system. In April, I watched a Shyguymask video on CrossCode and it was everything I was looking for. It was one of the most amazing games I've ever played. The story, the puzzles, the combat, the characters, the sidequests, the references and jokes, all incredible. Bought the dlc day one (on switch) and the dungeon's final boss was so incredibly difficult yet fair, took me like a week but beating it was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. The game even has options to weaken enemies and slow down puzzles so those who can't take the challenge can still beat it! I very highly recommend the game to anyone and everyone

Crosscode is in my top 3 favorite games of all time, you missed the super intricate areas with height-based puzzles that reward you for interiorizing the map layouts.

Ngl, I only chose element depending on the combat arts they allow (and enemy weekness). I haven't noticed any major difference in stats and I entered the endgame a week ago so I can't say I 100% agree, but there's no denying that crosscode is my favourite game ever, so there's that

Such a good game. I initially tried it out on a whim but so sucked into it that I kept playing it until I beat it…then immediately bought the story DLC to see more.

Comparing the story to Xenoblade is definitely not a coincidence, as development started shortly after one of the lead developers finished Xenoblade 1, the sidequest system was directly inspired by Xenoblade, the devs have cited Xenogears as an inspiration for the story, and a piece of official art references Xenosaga with a caption suggesting that it was also an influence.

It pretty much is an indie Xeno game.

For all who don't know this. Cross Code is the Spiritual Successor of "Velsarbor" a RPG Maker Game which never made it live. There is only an extended Demo of it and it's a blast. Try it out, then you know where all the good elements come from.
