Grid penalty confirmed on Friday. A frustrating Sprint. Q2 knockout in qualifying. P17 start. For most drivers, this would make the weekend a write-off... but Max Verstappen isn't most drivers.

Stroll better. Finished his race before the race even started. Now that's a masterclass there.

Ayrton Senna" You cannot overtake 15 cars in sunny weather, but you can when it's raining" Max took it by heart

Norris losing control and going wide simultaneously as Max took the lead of the race is absolutely symbolic of the championship battle between the two this year.

it's a lot of water, but... LET'S TRY A LAP."
That's a champion right there... while the whole grid was crying.

British media have been awfully silent 😂

- 'it's a lot of water but...'
- goes full throttle
- refuses to elaborate

this will go down as one of max verstappen’s most legendary drives with the context of the championship, the slower car, the backlash from media and bad luck this weekend he proved to be one of the best to have graced this sport. An honor to witness

-Starts in P17
-Overtakes the entire field
-Sets 17 fastest laps
-Finishes 20 seconds ahead of P2

This man is the second coming of senna.

When its raining hard and Max told his team to try another lap, the scenario brings me back to the interview when his father forced him to do laps on heavy rain when he was karting, “do some more laps, and when you’re freezing, put your gloves to the exhaust until it burns and keep on driving” (somethjng along those lines) Say what you want on how harsh his father is, but am sure its a completely different Max if it weren’t for that intense treatment and training. Proving us yet again why he is the champion.

No DRS. No "mini DRS." No rocket ship. Just pure craft, skill, and pace. One of THE greatest drives of all time.

DONT FORGET ABOUT GASLY IN THE ALPINE… P13 TO P3… Although, his boat was suited for the conditions, it was still incredible 😅

I haven’t been the biggest fan of max this year, but it’s impossible to ignore this drive. Max literally had ALL odds against him, not in the fastest car, poor weather, a grid penalty AND he got unlucky in qualifying, along with starting at the very back of the grid. And despite that he proceeded to win the race by 20 seconds

“HOW FAR IS HE BEHIND?”….
31 sec…. Lando was 31sec BEHIND!!
And Ocon on P1 was 19sec behind 💪💪💪💪
A MAXTERCLASS 🔥

Clearly not. It was Stroll's greatest drive. He finished first.

His skills in the rain have only been further proven, 16 overtakes, from P17, to P1 with almost 20 seconds to P2 by the end, despite not being the fastest car, 17 fastest laps as well in one race in this type of conditions....

There is no question he is an absolute legend right up there with Senna, Prost, Schumacher, Alonso, Raikonnen, Vettel, Hamilton

It was not only one of Max's best races but rather one of the best races in Formula 1 history!

I love how Max on the start 2:16, took the outside of turn 3 to have traction and overtake a series of cars, away from the racing line.
He did that in 2016 too where the grip is not great and somehow he makes it.

Max has proved why he is a 3 time world champion great skill in very wet conditions over taking so many race drivers with ease, the wet conditions really tested the skill of the drivers, rather than the speed of the cars. A great win by Max.

2:26 this is so underrated by Max he is off the racing line passing everyone while they are on the racing line and struggling for traction. Look at Lewis's back end getting twitchy as he is trying to put down the power. Max did this in 2016 as well when he went off the racing line and somehow found traction. That's unreal talent.
