How to Reset iPhone to Sell (FACTORY RESET) Erase all Content AND Settings

The basic steps are:

I had new phone for a while and manually put all apps back on it and signed into iCloud and got all photos back on it. I just recently went on old phone and chose the “erase all content and settings”, then it asked me to put my iCloud password (I think it was for iCloud), after I put password it restarted and loaded up then when it came back on it was just like when you get new phone, it’s says “hello” and then you can choose whatever language etc.. I didn’t go any further as I wanted my friend who I gave it to, to set it up like a new phone. I am super paranoid now though just incase my stuff is still on it as i didn’t go in to it further to check. My current phone in iCloud settings doesn’t show the old phone anymore so I should be good? I really hope all my stuff is wiped off the other phone, I got mad fear rn 😳

I erased all contents and setting from my old iPhone without removing or signing out of my Apple ID.recently I went to my settings in my new iPhone and noticed that my apple ID is still being used in the old iPhone. Please tell me that this didn’t happen! Or tell me that the buyer wasn’t “really” able to use my ID on his phone or he didn’t just get all my ID associated apps and settings!!

I ended up erasing all data and don't remember if I "signed out" of iCloud before I did this. I don't see the old phone listed when I check it on my new phone. However, when I log in to icloud on my desktop computer, I can still see the old "erased phone".

Yeah, now show me how to do it while my iPhone storage is too large to force restore with iTunes, but the phone is also stuck on the Recovery mode page meaning you can't even clear up storage. Do that.
