People think this is a patriotic song, but when you listen to the lyrics you realize it's a protest song against the war and American imperialism. But in turn protesting injustices and demanding better of our country, seeing it as a work in progress that should be improved at every opportunity, to become the best country it can be, rather than just blindly accepted for what it is, is truly the most Patriotic thing Americans can do.
