Jamie is a great carpenter with an endless book if “tricks” and the iron working skills are coming along. Nice looking welds for making arch metal!

Love the railings Jamie. Incorporating a little metal into any project gives a nice contrast.

Who in the h*ll says that wooden houses is rotting? Here in Sweden we have wooden buildings that are well over 800 years old. And we have a really harsh climate. As long as you care for your maintenance there are no issues to build wooden houses. We have started constructing bigger residential and office buildings in LVL wood as well. Thank you for the fun and inspirational videos.

Getting off a site is a skill lots of builders just don’t have. Leave it clean and the customer wil remember.

I have a miller 211 and its an amazing welder for the average car guy or hobbyist learning fabricating... I would say grind a bit of a bevel on the edges for the weld to lay in (less grinding) and do cursive e between the two pieces your fusing together. Gas flow too high or low (I believe my regulator is set and 25-28 psi) and wind blowing you gas away is why you got porosity in your weld. Practice makes perfect and yall are perfect at building houses. I LOVE THE CONTENT THO and his welds are structurally great... lol the weld seam facing up was bothering me while installing that railing too

Regarding the placement of the kitchen next to the portopotty, my grandma always used to say, "Don't eat where you poop!" Next time, don't put the kitchen next to the poopatorium!

Can you talk about what you drilled into for the rebar for the floating shelves? Did you just drill a hole into the framing behind the drywall? Is there nothing that attaches the shelf from sliding off?

in response to Jaimie, polyurethane is the kind of paint they use to paint airplanes, like big jets boeing 747's and such, doesnt get much more outdoor than that. I know a guy who works in a shop where they maintain and repair these jets between flights and he took some of that leftover paint home and painted his honda civic with it
