In this video Marcus is on site carrying a whole installation insulation resistance test from within the consumer unit. Before carrying out the test the consumer unit was proved to be isolated and all the loads in circuit were removed.

Could you do a global IR test by putting all MCBs in close position and living RDC in open?

Do you guys have a video, where you do the sequence of tests, with global ir etc.. this would help me massively, currently in year 3 doing testing

should comment that the Fluke tester will only give a max reading of 500MOhm when on 500V test - it could well be higher. It's a feature I like and dislike about the flukes - a quick way of seeing the test voltage (a new install should peg the tester), but does have a few issues with calculations for IR on large systems (remember its the installation not the circuit that has to be above 1MOhm or 20MOhm)

And I agree, its a very pretty CU.
